Support while working on soffit on gable
I’m needing to support myself when rebuilding the soffit in a gable upper story while on top of a 4/12 pitch. Working on the ground is one thing but what the heck to you do when on top of a roof and needing to work on the gable? I’ve attached a pic in case I didn’t explain this very well. If you all have some levitation beads I’ll be good customer ;-).
Thanks!

I'll say it first............Sky hook!
Actually, I'd make some slope matching platforms on either end, and then use ladders/jacks,and planks.....and keep an eye out for WCB/OSHA etc.....

Is there room to park a boom lift on the other side? If not, build the custom platforms.

I was imagining the custom lifts....figure on using some ladder jacks and build up a platform. Same problem exists on both sides of the upper level so i'll make it so it can be moved. I would consider a boom but since this is a DIY and done during evenings and weekends I don't think it would be cost effective.
Thanks for the advice.
Do you have any or borrow some alum-pole staging. In the pic it seems to be 12' or less on the second story roof to the bottom lower roof. I would use a 2 -12' pole about 5' +/- in at the corners and on the bottom you can use roofing brackets about 4' apart and then lay 2x10 on the brackets (both sides). Pump up the staging until you reach the ridge and lay bed ladders on the two pumps.
