Does anyone have any input on the new DeWalt 1 3/4 hp contractors saw or the Ridgid 10″ contractors saws, I have been comparing all the different saws, and have found unlimited info on Delta and Jet, but none on either of these. I want it for general woodworking, that is why I want a contractors saw instead of a cabinet saw, (also the considerable price difference).

Hey Frankie,
Do you know UTLonghorn? Have a look at his post.
Coincidence?

*The DewWalt table saw is the only one that can accept all the different attachments and blades as a shop saw. All the dado blades etc. It's a nice saw but unless your going to use it alot buy a Mikita or something cheaper.
*Are you asking about the saw yu can take into the field ? If the choice is between dewalt or rigid, I would go for the dewalt. Accepts more blades is one thing but the main reason I prefer it is the rack and pinion fence, it is so accurate. We have several field saws and the dewalt is the favorite. In our area Home Depot used to be a major supplier of dewalt but are phasing them out in favor of their own brand "rigid". the only thing I do not like about the dewalt is the folding stand. it has some sharp edges and cuts deep when folding if a new guy is putting it away. If the fence is not critical and you can look further then look at Makita.
