Ive been asked to remove the exisiting flooring in a kitchen and put down new hardword (pre-finished 3/4″ oak). The exisiting flooring is floating laminate layed over glued-down oak parque. The flooring went down before the cabinets did so Im trying to figure out how to cut it out, like maybe snug a long sawz-all blade up against the toe kick and a saw away, and remove the laminate in sheets, then chisel out the parque (altho not sure I’ll need to remove the parque).
Has anyone ever done this? Anyone seen any kind of saw I can use to get up to the toe kick. Im thinking of something at the end of drill???
Also, I figure I can glue down the final pieces of the new hardwood when I get to the toe space. Eh?
Any advice?
Thanks!

Thx Huck. In the absence of buying/renting one of those, has anyone else navigated the tight toe kick space and successfully cut out old flooring?Thx.
i think huck might have said... theres a tool for every job and here's your answer.
Spend the 244 and make it easy on yourself. Do it right so it looks right.

im not even doing any floor yet... but that looks so handy... im gonna get it.
Thanks Huck
Don't do anything yet, PPajor. MultiMaster Nation will be along shortly.
When deciding about removing the bottom layer of parquet (sp?) don't forget to factor in new finished floor height as it relates to existing trim and appliances (especially the dishwasher). Might be better in the long run to remove both layers, but every situation differs.
"Has anyone run into this?" More times than I care to count.
I'm doing that on a job this week. Other tools that will work are the Bosch fine cut saw with a flush cut blade or the Fein multi-master. The Bosch might have a harder time fitting in some corners.
