   thats spendy for my area and these times...  i could get that done with me buy'n materials for under $1k ...  unless it's a screwed up hang job...

   If it's HO hung & taped, I would charged more. Plus the fact it's a basement

   When people call me in to finish work they started, I usually charge pretty close to what the whole job would have cost from the beginning... just for the aggravation factor

   I can't see the quality of what is already done, but the guys who bid this did. could be on the low side or it might be spendy. Who really knows for sure...

   Seems steep to me.  My sheetrock guy would probably do that for about 1K, barring any irregularities in the project or the workmanship.

   i just had rock hung ,taped,knockdown texture. 1.30 a ft in a old house,tthey usally charge more for that.

   YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T
   MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE
   DUCT TAPE.

   1000 sqft of drywall or a 1000 sqft floor? We need a sqft price on the drywall not the room. You could have four exterior walls or 6 rooms down there. Thats the difference.

   Until we know that you wont get a reasonable answer.

   Well it is 2 bedrooms, bath and laundry room and rec room. I measured 2770 linear inches of wall.

   2770 X 96 = 216768 / 144 = 1846 sq ft

   Ceiling about 950 sq ft

    

   I think that math holds up...thanks for the comments
