I did it this time, we sealed the entire height of the foundation walls with the black sealant, and now I need it to cover it or strip it back to the concrete- does anyone have any info? Thanks in advance

Skim-coating with joint compound covers texture, renews old drywall and plaster, and leaves smooth surfaces ready to paint.

I think about how much solvent it takes to clean my hands after only small amount of "black sealant" sneaks from the pail to my fingers, and I cannot do the exponential math to generate the gallons of solvent that would be required for a wall of the "black sealant".
Furring strips and a wall covering would be much more realistic!!!

*Is the problem here that you covered the full height of the foundation only to realize that the top foot or two will be remaining above grade??I would go with covering it, also. But I'm not sure what with.Rich Beckman
*Jake,Second thoughts...............If you wish only to change the color appearance of the exposed wall and the surface of the black sealer is thoroughly dry, try experimenting with oil based house paint.Or for that matter acrylic based paints might even adhere to the sealed surface.........................Iron Helix
