Hello, I have a question concerning a line voltage themostat that I purchased at electical supply house. The themrostat is makd by Columbus Electric ………ET series. Any how there are four screws on the back but I can not seem to make a good connection under the screws with the 12 gage wires leading from the panel and to the heater. I stopped in the place I bought it from and they said it could be wired directly but I like I said after making my loops in the wires and trying to make the coonnections I find its almost in possible to get the wire under the screws such as wiring up an outlet. What I am missing……..I have installed an honeywell thermostat which had the lead wires already attached. The instructions indicate that other options include factory or field installed locking kits for top an for bottom settings and 6″ wire leads. is this what i am missing?
Thanks
Dan

Maybe crimp on an eyelet to the wire end. An eyelet is much thinner than a wire. Just a thought.

Dan,
Use some stranded wire for pigtails. Should be much easier to get under the screws.
