Does anyone know where there is any information on tiling ceilings. I am retiling a bathtub surround and I would like to tile the ceiling. I have Michael Byrne’s book and he does not give any tips on how to tackle a project such as this.

Um...This month's Fine Homebuilding, page 30?
*David,I am currently living what you want to do, and now that the search button is back, there is a thread in the archives which got me started, and gave me ideas...Here is my story: 6" square tiles on the ceiling/soffit of bathtub, set diagonally (looks really cool). Used thinset with latex additive. Did not have to brace or make a thick batch of thinset. It had really good stick w/the latex additive. We put up the trim tiles first, and they did require a brace since they were narrow and on the edge. Once they set we did the field. Since we are weekend warriors, and do not have the skill to trowel mortar on the ceiling (without it getting everywhere else...), we buttered each tile. Gruesome, yes, but it worked for us.If you go this route, do yourself a favor and get thee a $99 HD wet saw. You will thank yourself many times over. Had good luck cutting tiles face side down, as the corners want to snap off as you approach the edge. Alternative is to cut the tile halfway, then turn it around and cut from the other edge. Used the dremel for the round cuts. Will try to post a picture of it if I can figure this out.Good luck.Theresa
*That looks real nice.
