I am trying to decide between the Dewalt 12″ slide miter and the Makita LS1214F. Can anyone help me make up my mind?

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming
WOW!!! What a Ride!
Either one is a great saw. Is there a factory store or repair center with that name near you? I would go with that, because either tool is going to last a long time and it's just easier to replace the parts. I tend to like the Dewalt because of the high fence and that's how I like to cut crown, but the Makita is a great saw.
