Back when I was using alot of Trex (maybe 6 years ago when there was only one type of Trex) I used Simpson DBTs http://www.strongtie.com/products/connectors/dbt1z-djt14z-dptz.html

these might work for this Brasilia, but they’d be awful close to the top and would be easily seen. What other conceled fastener could I use ? I don’t like any of the under-deck type with the tracks you attach onto the joist. Anyone used those Tiger Claws with composits ?
