Gene, Another rule of the spec home business is that you don't want to automatically eliminate 50% of your prospective customers.
Lots of people hate on demand water heaters. I wouldn't want one in my house and I know quite a few people who put them in and took them out because it didn't fit their needs.
I would stay away from this unless you are building for somebody with that preference.
Personally, I like separate water heaters..not boiler/combo units anyway.
Remember the KISS principle.
How about a nice Marathon super efficient electric. One # 10 wire and you're all set. It will last a lifetime and never rust. That is something they may appreciate.
