*
...too frikken much!
*3/4 of a sixteen footer.....
*
Well, I must admit I tried to cheat and put it on my bathroom scale, and, well it proved quite challenging to read the numbers without lifting the sheet. I give up!! You tell me....
*
Its alot heavier than it was 20 yrs ago I know that.

According to US Gypsum, 4x8 5/8" sheet = approx 75 lbs. A little math and you've got your answer.

According to the guy who usually loads my truck, a 4x12 half inch regular weighs 100 pounds. Of course he usually loads from a fork lift. My drywall suppliers POS system totals the weight of all orders, presumably to head off any trouble with the DOT.
*According to the US Gypsum Gypsum Construction Hamdbook, a 4x12 sheet of 1/2-inch Sheetrock weighs 1.7 pounds per square foot or 1.7 x 48= 81.6 pounds. GeneL.
*Ah, Gene, you're such a nerd. Of course you'd have the exact number! I actually did get a 4x8x1/2 sheet onto the bathroom scale and remember it was about 60. Sounds about right.

What is the weight, in pounds of a 4' x 12' x 1/2" sheet of sheetrock?
Thanks
