I am seventeen and will be going off to college this fall. The trouble is that I am having trouble finding scholarships. I hope that you guys can help me, even if it is just a place to look. I relly enjoy reading all the discussions and they have been a help a few times.

Nathan,
I have no idea if any of this is helpful, but the following links might be: FinAid and US News and World Report.
If you can't find enough scholarships, then you can start looking for a loan at: SallieMae
Best wishes,

*I doubt that you will find many scholarships targeted for study in construction, per se. You will probably need to target some schools that have the type of program that you want and then apply for general scholarships at that school as well as applying for general scholarships. There are also several ways to approach the study of construction. Many community colleges have construction technology programs that are probably pretty hands on. Most community colleges, unfortunately, are not well endowed with scholarships, although the fees are generally fairly low. You could also pursue the study of construction through civil engineering, architecture, business management, or related fields. There is a field of "construction management" which might be most in line with what you are interested in. Check out: construction management academic programs (if the above link doesn't work, try going to http://www.looksmart.com and entering "construction management, academic")Good luck.
*Nathan, Try your local office of The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). Our local office, The Will-Grundy Home Builders and Associates, in Illinois, awards scholarships yearly to deserving individuals in construction related fields of study. In some of the past years we've had very few applicants. I know other local branches of this association also offer scholarships across the country. If you post more information on your area or state, I could check to see what's available and post more details for you. If you are in Illinois, call our office at 815-723-2928 and ask to be put on our candidates list.Good luck,Bob
