Just tried. Can't even open it with my own computer! I made it on a xerox scanner w/pagis pro scanner ....stuff. I don't think pagis is compatable with anything else! Sorry, Jeff.
*Jeff, how about making it in a PDF format?
*Sonny, speak english! I think I can do that. Is PDF better, or jpeg? And another Q, the archives say this sit isn't set up for direct up-links( or something like that!), and that I'd have to link the pic to a website of some kind first, then transfer it here. Are things still like that? Or can I just use the attachment box and browse button below the text box? Thanks. I'll try to make a PDF. I've got two comp.s working.....the old one had the floppy in it, and my wifes laptop is what I'm using while the other works very slowly on attaching stuff! Jeff
*can't do PDF. I'll try a jpeg in the tavern. Better place to disrupt. Would a jpeg, or enhanced jpeg be better. It has both pics and text if that matters? Jeff
*Jeff what program did you make your flyer in in the first place .I may be able to help. I was able to open the document but I only got the layer with the photos in it and lost the text . XIFs are sort of rare and not widly supported so that's why I think most people can't or wont be able to open it. It's kind of a hybrid .TIFF document but it seperates text text color and image into different layers . As for making a .PDF you either need a program that has PDF output capability or Adobes PDF Writer so don't freak about that. As for .JPGs the higher quality the better as far as text legibility is concerned. I don't think posting your flyer here is at all disruptive since it is a "business" topic don't you think? And oh yeah, a .JPG file doesn't have any layers so you may need to "flatten" your document first to get all the layers out-putted in a .JPG. Some programs will do this automatically when you save a file as a .JPG ( Fireworks, Graphic Converter, and others) while others require you to make that decision ( Photoshop and others)
*I've figured out how to convert to jpeg, but still get only text, and not the bottom of the page. I'm working on doing the conversion in my Pagis Pro program, that came with the xerox printer/scanner. Maybe I can drop something into our Adobe program from the scanner. I'll try that next. The comp. doesn't let me convert the floppy info into anything that will support the added text. Might try some sleep first, then attack tomorrow with beer in hand! Thanks for the help. Jeff
*Tried to convery and save to disk. Crashed twice! Time for bed! Suddenly finishing the drywall doesn't sound so bad! Jeff
*I've only had one experience with Pagis Pro and I realize that's probably where I learned about .XIFs. If I am not mistaken you sghould be able to output as .TIFF which is okay in that both Macs and Windows people should have something to on thier machines to read .TIFFs. But why don't you try a .PNG. (Portable Network Graphics) I'm pretty sure I remember .PNGs as an output option and then anyone with a "late model" Internet Browser should be able to read it without ever having to leave their browser.
*.. i'm always disappointed if the format is anything other than .jpgall the others are either unreadable or they are two or three steps to display... i usually chicken out and move on..
