We are in the middle of a kitchen remodel. We will be installing plugmold under the cabinets so we can plug in appliances without an electrical outlet on the wall of the backsplash. I am having trouble finding plug mold in the right lengths I need and am wondering if you just buy this stuff in 5 ft. lengths and then cut it to whatever length you need. One cabinet is 18 inches wide and is between a refrigerator and a pantry wall, so we need plug mold that is perhaps 15 inches or maybe 1 foot. Can anybody tell me if I should continue trying to find the correct length, or is this stuff typically just cut to whatever length you need? Also, I am looking for some suggestions on where to buy this online. We have found it in Home Depot, Lowes, etc., and it is Ivory in color. Our cabinets are white cabinets, so we would like to find it in white. Thanks for any suggestions. I appreciate it.

I am not certain that would be a good choice or legal (I know code wants gfi breakers now, not recep's), not sure how you would do the split plug, alternating circuits, not to mention how awkward it would be to plug something up into a recepticle you can't see ... there are numerous decorator plugs and switch plates out there .. as always others will help fill in the gaps ..
Plugmold is available to my electrical guy in various lengths, and he cuts to fit.
We mount a wood strip in that back corner for the plugmold to go on, and the strip is ripped so the plugmold faces about 45 down, making for easier plug-ins.
The whole shebang goes on a GFCI breaker. No problemo.
We hate it if a customer rejects our plan for plugmold above a kitchen counter, and instead wants them in the wall above the backsplash. We prefer a tiled backsplash, counter up to wallcab bottoms, and receps look just plain bad in a nice tile backsplash.

Plug Mold comes in 5 or 6 foot lengths. I don't recall seeing longer. The new stuff has a larger profile than the older stock. You can field cut it and reassemble and also join it for longer runs. It comes in several outlet to outlet dimensions. I used 8" I think. I also placed each wall on its own 20 amp circuit.
I did the same thing for my kitchen and love it. The flexibility to place things anywhere on the countertop is great. Not looking at outlets gives a much cleaner look.
