I’ve got a screened porch protected by 2′ roof over hangs. I just finished putting up 4 x 8 sheets of beadboard on the ceiling. I was planning on picture framing the beadboard with 2×4’s and 2×6’s and maybe some cove molding to give it more of a coffered/finished look. everything will all be primed, caulked and painted, so is treated wood necessary? Or will the untreated wood still warp and twist here in the HOT/HUMID South East even if it is painted?
