I saw a house the other day that didn’t have treated lumber for the sill plate – The guy just used 2X6 SPF lumber. His reasoning was that the sill sealer separated the lumber from the concrete, so it didn’t need to be treated.
I was curious if this is common practice elsewhere ? I’ve never seen a non-treated sill on a house that was built in the past 30 years around here.
