After getting a quote for roughing in the plumbing on my house I decided to do it myself like usual. 2900 sq. ft. with 4 bathrooms to rough in water (copper) and drains(pvc) = $9700, too much

My brothers want to use PVC water lines , faster,easier. I refuse.

Anyhow, my heating contractor was there the other night and we had the above conversation and he said use PEX. I’ll let you use my tools, it simple like pulling wire.

My question is has anyone out there used it? is it as easy as he says? And what about any problems down the road. I do think by running home runs with all the feeds and no joints except where it is terminated is appealing. I realize it’s more $ than copper but doing it myself I should still be ahead. That’s unless my brothers eat more food and drink more beer that usual.
