Sorry for the vagueness. I am about to shingle my sisters house so I dug into FHB archives and found an article on shingling valleys by Mike Guertin FHB jan 03.He wrote about new way to shingle closed valleys where you dont have to cut any shingles. Instead of cutting valley shingles 6 inches off center you would use this line to run 3 tab starter up this line and seal it with cement. Than you run the oppsite corse of shingles , starting the corners at the starter line. I hope this helps its hard to explain. It makes sense if you can see it.
