I really like the look of venetian plaster. I’m about to re-do our family room and thought that it would look great on the walls. This is a project that I’m looking forward to doing myself. My question is-what happens if, years from now, we want to change it back? How big and how messy of a job would it be or would the walls have to be re-drywalled? Does anyone have any experiences to share??

I like the look of Venetian plaster too. Unfortunately, no experience with this - yet. I would think that you would either have to sand everything smooth or redrywall, which would be a pain.
I'm planning to check out the can tomorrow or Sat. Hopefully, there will be a phone number for customer service that I can call.
My preciousssss, I wantsss my precioussss NOW.
Thanks Beatrix and Plantlust, like I need yet another interest I'll never be able to fulfill! But seriously, thanks - I lament over what to do with my walls short of knocking them down. First image Googled on Venetian plaster http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=Venetian+plaster+&sa=N&tab=wi interests me. I may come back later after some reading about this technique. Again, thanks, I think ;)
Plantlust and CTI,
I started the same discussion over at Breaktime, I didn't realize it was so very quiet here........ As long as I don't have to redo the walls if sometime down the road we need a change, I think this is a go.
I've been thinking about this for awhile and really became inspired when I saw it in a friends home. Now I'm excited and can't wait to get going. We've ordered new furniture which should arrive in 3 weeks, so it's now or never!!
This is the look, but different color that I'm after:http://www.stirringcolors.com/images/venetian_plaster_big1.jpg
Go for it- CTI!
