I have been reading some of the discussion on venting, and feel more ignorant than when I first started.
But my question concerns slate rooves. One contractor told me that slate roofed attics do not need vents since they “vent themselves”. His reasoning was that the spaces between the slates allow for the attic air to escape.
My house is about 100 years old, and the roof is original.
Does this make any sense to anybody?
If not, what suggestions do you have?
