I am a builder in Seattle. I have a question about replacement air in a house without a forced air system.
I have been using hydronic heating and think it is the only way to heat a house where I live in the Northwest. Up until now, I have met the ventilation code for replacement air by having vents installed in the vinyl window frames. Now I am building a house for my family and my wife wants clad wood windows (of course!)
Can anyone recommend a good way to meet venting code for replacement air without putting those ugly little tube vents through the walls? Anyone have experience with a centralized venting system that might work for me?
Thanks!

I do highrise residential in Bellevue & Seattle.
Last house I did was in Federal Way, we had to have the bathroom exhaust fans on a timer.

If you want to keep it simple, use the bath exhaust fans on 24-hour programmable timers and provide make-up air through the more attractive Airlet 100s by American Aldes.

Great idea. I had never seen the 100's, only the 200's which are quite noticeable on the exterior. Many thanks.
