   Huck,

   I like your use of the clamps, but why belt sand something which is nearly straight to start? A edge plane would do the job in about the same amount of time as setting up the clamps.

   Mebbe I'm missing something, but if youse have a jointer, wouldn't that make life easier??

   (Course.....getting the jointer to the job site is a nuther issue altogether)    :)
