I need door hardware (interior & exterior) as well as towel bars & stuff for my bathrooms. I want to buy good quality. Is Baldwin the best answer?

Baldwin is very good - it's a high end product with a high end price. Most of Baldwin's products are solid brass which is fine. Most of my work is with older homes where black oxide is more suitable so I use Ball & Ball - they also have solid brass hardware. You can't beat either one for their quality and product line.
*you can also move up in quality with most of the major mfr's....if i'm looking for better quality i usually stick with Schlage and go to one of their commercial lines...i use Baldwin only for Architectural specialty items..not so much a question of quality as what is suitable for the particular application...
*Trisha,You can't go wrong with Baldwin. Stay away from the cheaper imitations. Now if you really want to spend some bucks, try Sheryl Wagner hardware. WOW.Ed. Williams
*I agree with Ed and Mike. Schlage being a great quality where as baldwin is high quality but more to design which you will pay more! As for bathrooms I like to match plumbing fixtures to towel bars, toilet paper holders etc. Moen has very fine products as well as kohler. Hope this helps!Mark
