I’m in the process of closing up my garage to keep it warm in the winter. The ceilings are about 9.5 feet up. I plan to use plywood on the walls and I would like to put something on the bottom foot and half that would be a little more water resistant so I can spray out the garage. Any ideas?

Foam board. Or you could just skim coat with setting compound and paint over that.

pressure treated plywood. a good 3/4 will last and look good for a long time.
PT plywood. Cheap and easy.
Any problems painting PT ply?
The only good advice would be to make sure it's dry before you paint it. We usually wait at least 6 months for exterior PT to dry before we paint and we use a good primer first.
Use a Telepro, that stuff is heavy (assuming 3/4".) Think wet, PT lumber in 4x8 form.
