I can’t give you advice how to do that in good conscience. All the standards call for clearance to COMBUSTABLES to be 36″ for stoves like that. You are already illegal and placing your family at risk because you do not have the required minimum 18″ of non-combustable floor surface in front of the fire box opennning.

It would not be hard to get a non-combustable surface on the fllor so hot embers don’t jump out and burn into the wood floor, and then to surrond the unit with a welded wire frame in a U shape to self support to achieve the goal, but wood that close could catch itself afire.

Please listen. I am very serious about this. Too many people make careless assumptions about wood stoves and end up losing life, health , or property. You cannot just ignore the rules of nature and common sense and expect good results. Don’t become one of those who make folks shake their heads sadly and mutter, “I can’t believe he was so stupid as to do that”
