I just did a kitchen addition on a 120 year old house the contractor had to take the sags and humps out of the original floor to try to match up with the new addition then the same contractor installed #2 tounge and groove pine flooring i should mention that it is 1 x 12 any way the floor was face nailed with a nail gun . The floor was sanded and finished and looked great. the problem is after a couple of months the home owner is noticing cracks and some areas it is splintering iwas wondering what could possibly cause this
