   I'm pretty sure that is a Certainteed Carriage House, but it might be a GAF Slateline. I'm pretty sure it is the Certainteed that clips the corners that way

   bob .. it does look a lot like Certainteed's Carriage House or Grand Manor

   i love Certainteed.. i haven't used anything else since they bought Bird

   Bird  ..... GAF...... Elk...... IKO.....Certainteed.. we've used them all..

    the modern Certainteed is a superior shingle that has had a lot of improvements since Hurricane Andrew

   For everyone who posts on BT it should be mandatory for them to have at least a weeks worth of dialup under their belt.

   Don't bother as long as you have dial-up. It'll be like NASA talking to Armstrong..."You done talking? over" Ian and i couldn't use it until we had hi-speed at both ends, but once you do...you can call other Skype folks for free and it sounds like next door. You can even call world-wide land-lines, too...really really cheap.

   Certainteed or GAF. IKO also has had a lot of problems with their 3-tab shingles peeling and not adhering. I've heard their service on their warranty is horrible as well.

   fir the record, most shingle manufacturers don't help much on warrantees unless you have clout, meaning that you are signed up as part of their approved installer programs and that you buy a good hundred thousand dollars worth of product every year...

   Yeah, I believe that Certainteed makes something like that, but I wouldn't install Certainteed shingles if they gave them to me.

   Certainteed has had many lawsuits against them due to defective shingles.

   There are many many homes where I live which have the shingles bending, worn out, and falling apart. They are less than 10 years old and look like the building has never be reshingled. All of them are made by Certainteed.

   Yep, this is a common problem with Certainteed shingles sold in the Midwest. My "25 year" shingles lasted less than 10, and Certainteed offered bupkis on their warranty.

   My neighbor threatened to sue them and he got about 65% of a roof replacement. I think the company told him they would pay about $500. When he threatened to sue them it ended up at about $2500. He replaced the roof himself and so he made some money but not much for his labor. The roof was about 8 years old.

   Yeah, unfortunately by the time I got to them they had started taking a harder line. I took the piddling money just to be done with it, but I did collect a list of others with troubles, and an attorney in Minneapolis is working on a class action.If you know anyone interested in the class action, email me at [email protected].
