I have always thought about using Wonderboard throughout a house for a few reasons. The most practical is that it would give fire protection that even 2 layers of fire-code sheetrock cannot touch. Second, if finished with a skim coat, it would have a similar density to plaster and give that solid feel that sheetrock can never give. I have always lived with plaster walls and feel that sheetrock walls just feel hollow.
I have never seen it done, and I know there are many cons, such as difficulty cutting, hanging and finishing it, but beyond that I would like to know what others think about this. And are there structural concerns?
