As a high point to those who have posted bad experiences thru a business deal gone bad, I’ll post my story. May help a few who can’t afford going to court feel better. May your time come too! Had the wife’s can in 11 months ago for a rebuilt engine. Wanted Jasper, and got the installer from their website. Pay about 4 grand, and expect rebuilt Jasper engine. Engine done, then quits. Timing belt broke , and must be shipped back, then new rebuilt engine installed. Soon after, 2nd rebuilt engine is blowing black smoke out exhaust. Call to bitch at Jasper, and we’re not in the computer system. Point this out to installer, he remembers “we” had agreed to go with a different, and cheaper-but for the same price, engine company. Funny, but the wife and I can’t remember this? Anyway, after consulting with a mechanic buddy, and the very helpful Jasper enging company….and just about daily visits to the installers shop……we finally have a rebuilt Jasper engine in the car. And all the old plugs, wires, hoses, exc. have never been changed! Again my mechanic says he can fix for alot less than court, and just let it go.
We do. Best part, when I go to pick up the car, the first installer….the very same guy who tried to rip me off…..and lied to me daily for the last year……said…..Hey I know you don’t want to hear this, but I may need your help to get a full refund on the second engine!(We ordered and made him pay for the Jasper, instead of waiting for the refund like he wanted). Well, I tell him lets see first if the Jasper’s been installed right, then we’d see. And I drove home laughing all the way. Hate to see such a nice guy get screwed by a bad company! Can’t wait till he calls and I’ll even drive out to tell him NO in person! He tried to rip us for an extra thousand…..and he’s now not getting a refund on a 3 thousand dollar engine! What comes around goes around, ain’t it a bitch!
Hope all will have an equally satisfying store to tell. Jeff

Jeff,
Better think about editing your post. Some of us know that cathy's "car" was in the shop. Others might not.
*Really! Jeff, I was thinking that must be SOME woman to require a Jasper in her can. ;) *duck*
*Many years ago, I took my Dodge minivan to a transmission shop for a "new" transmission. I stopped back a day or two later and the van was up on jacks and a peak beneath showed that the transmission had at least been removed. The guy told me that it would be a couple more days. I return in a couple of days but there is a customer in front of me. He is really pissed. He had brought his car (a Chysler product) in with a spare transmission and paid to have that spare installed in his car. He had gotten the car back with it doing the exact same things it was doing before. He accused the mechanic of doingi nothingto his car and of putting the spare transmission into that van (pointing at mine) over there. I peeked beneath my van and, sure enough, there was a transmission installed. But when the angry guy left I was told that it would still be a couple of days. Obviously the angry customer hit the nail on the head!I was amazed when I got the van back and it worked. Not incompetent, just a crook.Rich Beckman
*Oh, the "car" is a whole 'nuther problem!!! That's too funny to not leave in! Jeff
