Paint Brush – keeping it from drying until the next use
Just saw the Chuck Miller video on using a ziplock bag to put your wet paint brush in, but I think this trick is easier, less messy, cheaper, and more effective.
Take a length of Saran/Cling wrap and lay it flat on a clean surface. Take your wet brush, lay it near one end so that the wet bristles are about half way from the top and bottom of the saran, then roll it tight. After a couple wraps, squeeze the air out with your hand while still on the table, from the base of the bristles out to the ends, then fold the saran over the top of the bristle ends toward the base. Then wrap the other end of the saran tight around the metal base and handle. Then I put it in the fridge or freezer, depending on how long (hours, days or weeks) I need it again. Just remember to let it thaw out a bit, if in the freezer. This has worked like a champ for me for years. I even do it with my nice Purdys, which are going on 10 years old.
