Because cleanliness is next to godliness when it comes to sweating copper fittings, I had a powerful incentive to coax a little more usefulness out of my fading wire brush. As shown in the drawing, I wrapped some steel wool around the remaining bristles. Tangled in the old brush, the steel wool gave me enough abrasive cleaning power to finish my project.
