Power nailing safety is just a click away
Nailgun safety video now available in English and Spanish
The International Staple, Nail and Tool Association (ISANTA) has produced a 15-minute video presenting the safe and productive use of power nailers and staplers. The video is available in both English and Spanish, as a website download or on VHS cassette or compact disk (CD). The CD also includes training aids that support the video. The course outline for trainers and handout materials for tool users, however, is in English only.
The safety video, titled “Power Fastening Safety and You: A Partnership,” is intended for tool users, building contractors, safety professionals, and dealers, and includes interviews with building contractors and carpenters.
Four messages are emphasized: (1) wear eye protection, (2) keep your finger off the trigger when not working, (3) choose a trigger system for specific needs, and (4) read and understand all safety instructions.
The video was developed in conjunction with an alliance of organizations interested in tool and jobsite safety. The alliance includes organized labor, contractors, regulatory groups, and safety professionals.
Tool users, safety professionals, building contractors, and tool/fastener dealers may obtain a complimentary copy of the safety video while supplies last, by writing to: ISANTA, 512 West Burlington Avenue, Suite 203, La Grange, IL, 60525-2245, or calling (708) 482-8138.
To download or to order a copy of the video online, go to http://www.isanta.org.
