The cost of framing lumber declined in June to $329 per 1000 board feet, according to the Random Lengths composite price report.
The composite price started at $393 per thousand in January, then rose in February, March, and April before beginning a decline. The composite includes prices for 15 types of framing material, including green and kiln-dried Douglas fir, Eastern spruce-pine-fir, southern yellow pine, and inland hem-fir.
The structural panel composite price also fell in June, from $456 per 1000 square feet in May to $391 per thousand. At the start of the year, the composite price was $483 per 1000 square feet.
