James (B’fer) Roth, Conner & Buck and the homeowners teamed up with Mitra Designs to continue their great collaboration and begin the interior of the house shown in the previous post. Going off of the tree-based inspiration that was used for the exterior, the materials used inside were comprised of local hardwoods, local stone, tree elements, polished concrete and salvaged wood and fixtures. The interior is light and airy, adorned with simple trim details, drywall returns to the windows and slab wood sills. All of the doors and hardware were salvaged from a convent and required only cleaning and minimal re-working. The homeowners were wonderful people, and modeled for me throughout my shoot. This shot in particular remains my favorite from the day, with the late afternoon, summer sunshine lighting the room and the trees that inspired the designers, lit up in the background.
