Having been around since 1926, Metrie isn’t new to interior finishings, and the long-running company is drawing on its significant experience to offer its new Then & Now Finishing Collections. The goal of the collections is to make it easier to select coordinated, proportioned, and ultimately breathtaking interior trim arrangements.
Then & Now consists of five collections–Fashion Forward, French Curves, Pretty Simple, True Craft, and Very Square–and each collection has three scenes. Scene I provides the essentials such as baseboards, casings and crowns. Scene II introduces architraves and chair rails. Scene II is a full design palette with larger profiles and more intricate detail.
In each scene, the casing is always deeper than the baseboard. This is done to produce the proportionally correct reveal at the joint. Similarly, the architrave is always deeper than the corresponding scene casing to ensure a proper reveal at the joint with no back band needed.
