Each time I pull out a length of plastic sheeting and hack at it with my utility knife, I’m left with a jagged edge that makes the plastic hard to tape. When picking up a new box of sheeting at the store recently, I grabbed some free yardsticks. I cut one into two 15-in. pieces and glued them to the box. This gives me a firm cutting surface for my utility knife and creates a clean cut every time.
