Podcast Episode 92 — IBS 2018 Live with Mike Guertin
The evolution of building science, deck disasters, and what to look for at the Builders' Show.
Rob and Justin are podcasting live from the Builders’ Show in Orlando, Fla. In this show, editorial advisor Mike Guertin joins the guys for a conversation on how the state of the art changes in building science. Mike’s been with the magazine since 1993 and creates a ton of content for the magazine and the website. This is his first appearance on the podcast (and that’s Mike at the center of the photo from the show, facing the camera).
Being a veteran builder, Mike offers some keen insight on being innovative with new techniques and materials. Of course, Mike was the builder on the FHB 2016 ProHOME demo build.
This year at the show, Mike is looking for the opportunity to talk to manufacturers to get the latest news and make some contacts. Mike also mentions the chance to give the tool-makers some real actionable feedback that helps them improve their product. Plus, he’s also searching for the hidden gems from the little companies that he has not heard of before.
