Cap Caulk Tubes
All you need is a disposable glove to close up a tube of sealant until the next time you need it.
For years I’ve tried various methods and products for capping off tubes of caulk, roofing cement, and adhesive. Finally, I’ve landed on a way that’s quick, easy, and cheap: Just snip off a finger of a disposable glove, put it over the end of the tube, and shoot about an inch of the goop into the glove finger. Shape the goop around the tip of the tube to seal it off, and you’re done.

I have a better solution for sealing caulk / roofing cement / adhesive tubes. Twist a ~2" screw into the hole in the end. This seals the end , plus if the tube sits for months, the screw will pull the dried stuff out of the end. (Simply pull the screw out.) No 'surface' approach works this well, because air leaks into the top - which gradually 'cures' the material in the tube. The screw allows you to pull the cured material out, and continue to use the rest of the material.
I agree with Bville. I've been doing that for years. The threads cut into the plastic tip to make a nice, tight seal.
