Greetings all,
I need to replace a 20 year-old Delta 12†turret-head arm saw. I might add that I’ve fought that damn thing for 20 years to try to keep it true. I mostly need it as a 90 degree cut-off saw, and occasionally mounted with a dado head. Presently have plenty of compound miter saws – so I don’t need another of those.
I’d conceder the Delta again if I thought they’ve improved the silly thing in the last 20 years…
Anything you’d recommend?
Thanks,
Phat

phat.. we used a 12" Rockwell from about '76 until the mid-'80's..
had it mounted on a boat trailer.. with 8' table on each side, wired for 220.
just found that there was nothing we could do with it that we couldn't do with some other tool.. think i sold it at a yard sale for $100..
it was good for cross cut dadoe, though
still got a 10" set up in my garage shop... but i just use it as a cut-off saw
check out The Original Saw Co.
they are the ones now making the DeWalt RAS, about the only RAS that is worth owning. It can be adjusted to make a truly accurate cut, and will hold the adjustments.
Wolfe Machinery, a related company, sells reconditioned DeWalt RAS.
Thank you, thank you, thank you... I remember that saw - it was awesome.Phat
