I think you should consider the product to be used for air sealing and not as a primary insulation. Those little cans at $5 - $7 would push your cost of instalation through the roof in no time and the payback period would be pushing close to your longevity!
I am using quite a bit of the stuff so you got my curiosity up and I checked on the Net and couldn't find any published R-values. My guess is that since it isn't designed for a wall cavity, there isn't any way to get the numbers. It's nowhere near as dense as Corbond, XPS or EPS board so I'd guess an R-value of maybe 2 - 3 per inch.
Steve.
I called Dow it has an R-value of apprx 5.5'' per inch. I'm not using these cans to insulate walls rather to seal the edge of where my 4x8 sheets of XPS attached to the wall meet the floor. In esseence ensuring that all seams are sealed so that no warm-air will get behind the XPS.
Doing the same thing at my place. Built before insulation and air sealing was fashionable. Plus the guy who had it built worked for the heating oil company. After trying all three types I like the Window and Door stuff the best.Steve.
