Yes, they do. Some longer than others. Where I am, the rafter- and joist-sized stuff (2x10, 2x12) comes that long and longer, but stud-sized stuff maxes at 16.
West coast yards have long stuff, I'm told.
Of course, you can always try "special ordering" at the bigbox. Chuckle. Snicker. Good luck with that one.
>>The big box stores seem to carry nothing more than 16' long. Don't most real lumber yards carry lumber up to 22' or 24' long?
Yes, most REAL lumberyards do. The Big Box stores aren't REAL lumberyards!
My lumberyards carry 2x's up to 28'. No HD will!
Call a lumberyard and ask what they carry.
I think it's a regional thing. I've never seen lumber over 20' long in Illinois. (except in the Chicago area) There's just no demand for it.
But in other areas people talk like it's pretty common.
The big boxes don't carry long stuff, as it would be difficult to handle in the aisles on their carts.
I don't know, but what the hell is she doing out of the kitchen?
I think it's a regional thing.
must be.. extra long is stock item here but not at the BB's...
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming<!----><!----><!---->
WOW!!! What a Ride!<!----><!---->
Forget the primal scream, just ROAR!!!
HD here in LA has 2x4's up to 20 ft. Of course, like anything else, they may run out at times. But the place on the rack is always there.
