Place yer bets….or tell me if you know it’ll work.
Got a kitchen on the table…..they want a corner cab..with a sink in it. They’d love a disposal…..and the 2 bowl sink that usually goes with.
I’ve found a few in the 3322 size. Most all say ya need to step up to a 42″ front panel………we’d like to stay with a 36″ base.
Swanstone literature …or web site..can’t remember…say’s their 3322 will fit a 36″ base. All the cab co’s say I’ll need the dreaded 42″……
Forgot to make the call to Swanstone today…..will have to try first thing Monday….
But in the mean time….Place Yer Bets.
I’m thinking about drawing up a full scale mock-up if I find some cardboard and do a life size layout for kicks.
Anyone ever fit a 3322 in a 36″ diagonal cab?
I did find a Kohler “K-5918-4-lg”…wrong color..but they have white…that has a tiny disposal basin build into one corner that might do the trick at 2522
It’d fit…not sure if the customers want a disposal that bad to sacrafice the bowl space for it…but good to have options. It looks cool…..I’d go fot it.
So…will it fit?..the 3322…..

I thought you did this kind of work on a regular basis? <G>
Of course it will fit. A 36" base is still a rectangle that will hold the sink even if it's in the back yard. Further, you'll still be matching the sink base face with the boxes to the left and right and the sink base won't even touch the walls at the back corners. What you will have is a counter top with a span of over 4 feet from the front of the sink to the corner. Quite a reach.
You could go for the sink base that comes with the angled front (looks like the standard corner cabinet) which could reduce the long reach to the corner to under 4 feet but that would require a 24" cabinet face and the 42" size that was recommended. Unfortunately, that puts the front lip of the sink style you want about 6" back from the edge of the countertop, unless you "borrow" some space for the bowls from the cabinets on either side. You'd be butchering some cabinets.

Personally.....I don't like diagonal sinks, and would never do one for someone I love. I know you see them in the mags....and I know the designers love them (there is one here puts them in every kitchen she does). Don't like diagonal cabinets period. Whenever this has come up, all the custom cabinetmakers I've known feel the same....we'll go another way unless forced into it. Just an opinion.
The sink should fit though, like Ralph said (standard disclaimers apply....totally depends on how the cabinet is made, though)).....beware any and all solid surface mfg's printed specs though. cabinetmaker/college instructor. Cape Breton, N.SWAY too conservative to be merely right wing
I came in after the customer had their dream kitchen designed in their head. Now I just gotta try to make it all fit as close to their pic as possible.
To top it off.....they're moving the sink from under a window....into a corner that's going to have a diagonal upper cab as well. They're set...who am I to argue?
Tiny little kitchen....with very little room left for base cab's....so no base butchering is gonna happen...they need all the base storage they can get....I'm not even gonna alter a drawer.
So I'm stuck with trying to wedge one in...or go single bowl.
Hey Cal.......those 2 side cabs untouched? Drawers still work.....not cut down?
That app looks good with the windows above.......
I haven't wedged a big sink into a small corner as of yet......for my tastes......this is gonna look way to tight(with the upper)...but I don't have to do the dishes there.
That Kohler Urbanite is looking better and better......the closer to the front the better....
