I built a very special rack that holds both my 6' and 4' levels. It is bolted to the top of the inside of my cargo van. I try to be as careful with those things as I can because of the amount of wear & tear there is in our line of work. Although half of my leveling is done with my PL laser anymore, there are places where only spirit levels will do.
I also try to protect my framing squares. The rest of my more delicate tools (planes, chisels, router bits, etc, all have their own boxes.
I screwed a 6"x ~40" scrap of 3/4" birch plywood to the underside of the roof ribs in my E250 van. The levels are clamped up there with two large spring clamps. Not always convenient to get to when there is other stuff in the van, but they are out of harms way there.

Stabila makes a 6' long, somewhat padded bag with different compartments for various sized levels. It also has a shoulder strap. You can buy the bag separately or as part of a set. Now, where you store the bag is another story. I love being able to just grab the bag off of my top shelf and go...I usually keep a 6',4', and 2' in it and this covers 95% of my needs. At the end of the day, even if the levels are staying onsite, they all go back in the bag until morning.
I built an underfloor level storage rack in my van. It stores all my levels in one place, well protected, easily accessible.
As a bonus, the raised floor allows me to just screw my storage racks to the floor. They were previously through bolted which just allowed water in and began rusting the bed and the racks.
