Small town of Franklin Virginia, about 45 miles sw of Norfolk, one of the rivers overflowed this weekend. I have a branch bank in the middle of the picture. That’s a fire dept high water rescue truck in the pic. It happened in 99 and we had 7 ft of water in the branch, this time it’s only about a foot. Hopefully we can get in Monday to start assessing damages and cleaning up.

brings back memories of 93
Thats pretty crazy to be driving through. All it takes is for the fan to hit standing water, not a good thing
Looks like you might want to move the bank up hill a bit!
Good luck with the clean up.
what is that over the top of the bldg, paper mill, steel mill?
Paper mill. When it flooded in 99 there was quite a bit of toxic runoff from the mill. This year the runoff was contained by a berm that had been built.
But ... a gas tank fell over and broke the valve off another tank, spilling diesel, and an emptty train from the mill derailed. And the water treatment plant was flooded.
