Look at the cost of the Milwaukee slider? WAY cheaper than HD.
Does HD look into things like this??
Replies
Looks that way to me. HD doesn't carry Husqvarna (Lowes does), or Horse tack, but the rest of the list is HD stock.
fence doing business???

All those things 'fell off a truck'.

She cant just be buying them at retail prices and reselling them. She must be in cahoots with a manager. Selling a Milwaukee 6955 for $555 delivered is unheard of. Even her Ridigid tools are cheaper. I know that Bosch watched E-bay for rough employees selling that they bought with their discount. Does HD do it too?
Rouge? You mean like makeup?
But no, HD like all retailers sells some returned merchandise to specialty wholesalers who in turn sell it to open box retailers. You can buy semi loads of HD returned tools if you like.
But it cant be resold as "new". Our local HD sells that stuff themselfs in a special section.
These boxes area all seald. I think somthigs fishy.
Sure it can. Lots of their unsold and outdated merchandise gets sold like that. We've got, or rather, we had until the economy got him, a store here in town that sold nothing but tools from HD and Lowes. Some were returns, most were unopened boxes.
Which is not to say these ebay sales couldn't be something else but the seller would have to be a real fool to take a chance like that.

that's already happend...
same thing on CL too...

Why would HD sell it to someone else for MUCH less if it was a return? why not just resell it them selve and get the money. For the prices she is selling these things for she must have someone on the inside working for her.
DIIK...
but every so often ya see where the cops bust somebody for selling stolen goods on ebay and CL....

You could be right, But look at the quanity and size of the items she has for sale. Almost everything is BIG. you would need to back up a U-Haul and fill it to do what she has.
the prices and where it potenially came from is enough to deter me from doing business with her...
so many Q's and no answers...
assuming that she is even a she...

Could be a cashier involved. Deactivate the anti-theft device at the register, ring up 8 of the ten items in the cart and pass two hot items through.
Could be, but if so the store manager is really dumb. Wouldent you mis 6 Miter saws? thoes boxes are huge. I believe they have cameras on each register too, so they can track down who was working on then.
Put it on the bottom of a cart with a pile of 10' plastic drain tile pipe drapped over the top?
Wow, you're a hard sell. Retail stores sell their overstocks and returns every day of the week. There are stores that don't put any returns back on the shelves, all of it goes to open box merchandisers. There is so much merchandise that there is an entire business model built around it. You can buy everything, groceries, tires, computers, TV's clothes, anything you can imagine. For about $36K you can buy a semi load of 24 pallets of tools from Amazon or for about $15K you can buy a semi load of groceries from Safeway or Publix. For about $15K you can buy a shipping container of brand new name brand underwear. How about a pallet of hammers for $700.00 or so?
Just because you don't understand the market doesn't mean it doesn't exist.Here, http://tinyurl.com/mlao33 , take a look.
I wish I hadn't seen that link.
This isn't actually much of a deal. Big open box retailers don't buy from places like this because the prices are too high for them to resell at a big discount and still make a profit. If you look at the details of what you're bidding on, figure shipping and some broken stuff and then selling what's left at a good discount it's pretty close.
Used to know a guy who sold underwear at flea markets. He bought by the container at about a dime a pair and sold them for a buck a pair. He sold out almost every day and only worked Saturday and Sunday.
here where i'm at someone is selling HD gift cards on CL
The ad says something like this:
"for sale HD gift card with $359 credit on it. I will take $300
meet me at any home depot and I will verify the card's balance"
Sounds fishy to me
cnat buy crack or booze at HD ???
Shoplift something, return it it with no receipt and get a gift card. Sell at a discount for cash. It's not too late, it's never too late.
They are all over our Craigslist ads here. But if HD confirms the balance what can you say?
so you buy it. put it in your wallet till next weekend.
guy you bought it from goes back in the store 2 hours after you paid him, i lost my credit, heres the reciept.
they check it's not been used ,they cancel that one and redo you a new one.
i wouldn't touch one of those cards unless it was 400. card i could buy for 100 and spend right there. heck i can use a 10% off anytime and save 40. on 400.the older i get ,
the more people tick me off
I bought one of those push leaf blowers at HD on sale and hated it....even with the high horse power so I put it on Ebay.
Some dope paid more then the thing cost not on sale plus a huge shipping cost.
Some people think Ebay is always cheaper and never bother to check.

She's getting even with her husband, the jerk!
Saw another ad on Craig's list
It said something like:
"I got laid off and I've fallen behind.
I will meet you at HD and will give you $500 worth of merchandise on my HD card if you will give me $400 cash"
Quite a while ago I worked in the now defunct big box, Builder's Square. We had a night stocking crew for a while. It was a crew of about 6 people who was locked into the store from closing to opening the next morning with a perimeter alarm on. They found out that they could pop out the glass from the sliding doors to the garden center, take out whatever merchandise they wanted, over the fence to an accomplice and it was gone. They put the glass back in and were ready for the next night. Since the door itself was not opened, the alarm did not go off. When discovered, the night shift was eliminated and most if not all the employees on the shift were terminated. I do not know if any were prosecuted. I have no idea how much was stolen, but ebay could make it easy to turn it into money.
All of the stuff she sells states that it is brand new and never opened. Why would HD sell something like this a a HUGE discount? If it was still sealed, then they would sell it themslevs. I dont think its a scam as she has perfect feedback.
sounds like yur talking yurself into it being okay to purchase from her...
