I am running into situations where I need to set for example, drip edge flashing against ACQ lumber. I am so paranoid about ACQ against anything but stainless, I always run Vycor V-40 between the metal and ACQ. One of the guys at the lumber yard today said that was un-necessary because the flashing id Hot Dipped. I am skeptical because one I believe the flashing usually available stock is just a simple galvanized and not truly hot dipped, and even if I wanted extra protection, simple flash paper would suffice. Unfortunately copper is too expensive as well as impossible to find in stock pre-made flashings. Am I being over causious?

I've never seen hot dipped coil or sheet. Doesn't mean it doesn't exist, but I'm not familiar with it.
Side note: My rep brought me some copper coated stainless steel to peruse. It's about 30% cheaper than pure copper and definitely stiffer. Supposedly solders better as well.

I have never seen roll metal hot dipped. Don't believe it.
There is a product out that is a thin copper laminated with a vyccor type backing. You can bend it and cut it. omes in rolls different widths.
I saw this at JLC live but can't remember the name of it and haven't had cause to use it since then yet, but you might ask them to look around

I've seen this stuff at the big boxes -- HD for sure, and I think at Lowes too. It's in with the other coil stock. The copper is paper thin (or less!), so it wouldn't be great for locations where it might be exposed to damage. Another option is to put down Vicor under AL flashing to keep the flashing out of contact with the ACQ.
That said, you could probably find a roofer to bend up some copper for you. Doesn't pay in the end to save a few bucks up front by skimping on flashing.

I'm like you - the Pro's here have me really cautious about the corrosive nature of ACQ. I'm looking for stainless joist hangers - Simpson makes them but no one around here stocks them, or even stainless nails. I've used stainless screws a few times.
What if you isolate the flashing with 15# felt paper ? ? Then I guess you'd have to worry about the proper fastener - Simpson says stainless only with ACQ, but not to use stainless in contact with hot dipped galvanized plates, or, I would presume, flashing. What to do, what to do ?

I've been doing hangers, etc ZMAX with ZMAX fasteners. Can't find Stainless here in Calif either. I guess I'm going to isolate the flash with Vycor and fasten with HD nails.
McFeeleys carries stainless steel joist hangers. Order on line and they will be on your doorstep in a few days.

We have been using rolled vinyl flashing about 10" wide and using the brake to bend it. No worries about corrosion from ACQ.
