I’m having an Arizona room added to my house. At first I wasn’t going to heat it but the more I think about it it probably would be the smart thing to do. I have heating/cooling ducting in the existing attic space. The duct is shared by a swamp cooler and a gas heater. I would like to tie into the existing duct and extend a couple vents to the new addition. Could I just install a Y duct fitting into one of the existing insulated flexible ducts and extend it to the new addition. It would be about 15′ from the existing ducts. I’ve been told the existing heater and cooler are sized to handle the extra area in the new addition. Should I leave this to a pro? Any idea what it would cost to pay someone to do this job. Thanks!

Few people understand it. Nobody agrees what it is, how to learn about it, or who's responsible for it. It has never been more important
