Sorry for my ignorance, but what's ADK?
*
I emailed them with a similar question. Still no response...
*You guys are so dumb. ADK is "All Da Kewlest"Pete DraganicPS. I can start for 75,000 annually.
*I will work for $45,000 but I need relocation expenses and temporary housing. Or buy me a plane. Maybe she meant AKC. My dog can really shred the scrap wood.-Rob
*
Attention Deficit Karpenter ? ,A deffective Kutter ?
*
ADK is a local's way of referring to Adirondack Mountains. It was probably an oversight for Hope to assume we all knew this.
*
Attention Defecit Karpenter? A deplorable kutter?
*
Well - I checked airport codes and couldn't find an ADK. Either side there's ADJ which is Amman, Jordan and ADL : Adelaide, South Australia.
*If it means "All Dumb Kooky" carpenters then it is working!
*I thought I had cleared this up earlier -- it's Adirondack.
*Chill, Barry we're All Done Kibbitzing
*Barry,I don't buy your Adirondack theory. I lived near that area for a good many years and never heard of such an abbreviation. Besides, when all the black flies moved in, all of the carpenters moved out.Perhaps a friend of mine, Adirondack Jack, who still lives there, will comment soon on this terribly important issue.

MY VOTE IS " ALL DA KEWLEST"

*"All Da King's" Carpenters!Rich Beckman

ADK obviously stands for Alla De Kash, which it is
well known carpenters will work for (having done
so once myself) (honest it was just once) (well
I can only remember once).
It may also be the acronym for the new particle
board furniture company which I heard is staring up;
"All Dissbee Krap"

Adirondack is the right answer. I like the alternative posts though! LOL
For those of you Planet wide, look up New York State; between NYC and Montreal, is an area called The Adirondack Park. Its more of a zoning thing (to control and limit growth) than a park. The State owns a good part of this "park" and everytime the economy heats up enough to reach our neck of the woods, the nature lovers and Sierra Club types with family trust funds scream louder for developer and builder restrictions. No screaming for now as our economy (north of Saratoga) nosedived in '89 with no major boom times since. Most of us prefer it this way and grit are teeth everytime a new stoplight's installed somewhere between our homes and the lumber yard.
Enjoying the winter...

ADK stands for Adirondack Park. Sorry, I should have spelled it out.
*ADIRONDACK PARK NEW YORK
*You are correct! And I was in a hurry. Sorry to you all who are taking me seriously.
*Check your email! I don't spend everyday on the computer I've got work to do.
*Thank you for the description. But our business is booming and my request is serious. We have been in the construction business for over 16 yrs with no downtime and more clients than we can handle right now with the current crew many who have worked with us for over 10 years.
*There is no application fee required and anyone who is seriously looking for a job and is willing to relocate to our area for year around employment as a carpenter working on custom "Adirondack Style" Projects they should email me and I will reply to all serious inquiries.
*
Will you reply to a series of inquires (see above)? And just what is an Adirondack type project? Wouldn't that be ATP?
*
For more info on what Adirondack Style Architecture is I suggest you find this book(new) Adirondack Style by Ann S. O'Leary. Can be found in most larger bookstores in the US and at Amazon.com. First printing in October of 1998 sold out in 60 days.
*Hope-I am originally from the Glens Falls area and am now a GC in Northern Minnesota. I have a future brother in law who lives in Lake George and is quite skilled. What are you looking for- more specifically?
