Hi,
I seem to have found a combination of sink (AmStd.) and faucet (Price Pf.) that don’t match well and leak about the tail piece. Without too much detail it’s a combination of slightly mis fitting drain on the inside and seal on the outside/underneath.. Weep holes are well above the seal and allow a 1/2″ pool of water from over flow or small leak in the drain end.
I have tightened the bottom of it and when I almost have a seal it has squeezed out all the plumbers putty and it gets worse. The rubber gasket also seems to be getting shot out from all the tightening and removals. Even if I can get the drain end to seal it still leaks from the overflow as the weep holes are too proud of the seal.
I have ample plumbers putty and teflon tape. One side has a rubber gasket which came with it b ut is un mentioned, the other I removed it..they both leak.
So..Should I search for an Am Std. tailpiece or other brand? Or…???
Thanks,
Notrix

Notrix,
I don't follow your entire post, but I did understand "(Price Pf.)"
Not that I'm a plumber, but I've installed a few faucets and I won't buy or install Price Pf products because of the problems I have had with them.
Just go to a good hardware store or plumbing supplier and buy a good drain. It doesn't need to be an American Standard, it just needs to be a decent quality piece, something the Price Pf piece is likey not.
