Has anybody used one of these yet? I figure Plumbill has. I have a problem. I opened up a soffit in a kitchen today and found a 1 1/2″ vent pipe running through it.
The vent is for a dishwasher. It came out of the wall in the soffit and ran 6′ along the wall, 90*, and ran to the stack. Is it possible to terminate a air admittance valve in a wall? If not, I don’t think there is enough room back there to put it under the cabinet. In that case I’ll be dropping the ceiling 8″. Thanks to all, Jeremy

You have to have access to them. We usually put a cold air return register over them or hide them behind a mirror (in a bathroom). Why cant you fit it in the sink base?
The dishwasher is located about 3 feet to the left of the sink. I have to look under the other cabinets to see where it's routed. If it's behind the dw I don't think it will fit. I forgot about these until I got home so I didn't check the other cabinets
